MontaVista Linux gains Java-enabled support for wireless apps

San Francisco –(press release excerpt)– MontaVista Software Inc. and Zentek Technology Japan Inc. today announced they would join forces to provide embedded developers with innovative solutions targeting applications in the wireless devices market.

As a new member of the MontaVista Partnering Program, Zentek will adopt and promote MontaVista Linux as its standard embedded Linux platform. MontaVista Software will reference and leverage Zentek's browser and Java application solutions as part of its vertical offering for wireless devices.

Zentek's product offerings include: the Z-API, a platform for digital consumer products; the JADE series of complete development environments for Java-enabled cellular phones and wireless devices; and NBJ, a cHTML pure Java browser for digital consumer devices. Zentek's Z-API will be the first of its products that will be ported to run on MontaVista Linux.
