Ibase announced a Mini-ITX motherboard that supports AMD's G-Series T56N and T48N processors clocked at up to 1.65GHz. The MI958 supports up to 8GB DDR3 memory, offers PCI, PCIe, and mini-PCIe slots, provides dual display capability, and offers a variety of other internal and external ports, according to the company.

Designed for digital signage and surveillance systems, among other dual-display applications, the MI958 is the latest in a line of Ibase Mini-ITX boards. (Earlier examples include the Intel "Sandy Bridge" Core based MI956F, announced in January.)

The MI958 instead supports AMD's G-Series T56N and T40N processors. The T56N and T40N offer 1.65GHz and 1.4GHz clock speeds for their dual cores, respectively, and each has an 18-Watt TDP. An AMD A55E controller hub is also part of the package, says Ibase.

Thanks to the G-Series' chips' built-in Radeon HD graphics, the MI958 supports dual display capability using the board's  coastline VGA and DVI-D ports, as well as an internal 18-bit, single channel LVDS connector, says Ibase. Potential resolutions go as high as 2560 x 1600 pixels, the company adds.

The MI958 supports up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, says Ibase. In addition to the two video ports, other coastline ports include dual gigabit Ethernet ports, four out of eight USB 2.0 ports, audio ports, as well as two out of four serial ports. One of the four is said to be an RS232/422/485 port, but it's unclear whether it's internal or external.

Other internal connections include four SATA III ports and digital I/O, says Ibase. Also available are three internal expansion connectors for PCI, PCI Express, and Mini PCI Express, says the company.

Additional features are said to include a watchdog timer, HD audio, and an operating range that extends from 32 to 140 deg. F.

Features and specifications listed for the MI958 include:

  • Processor — AMD G-Series, dual-core T56N (1.65GHz) or T48N (1.4GHz), each with 18 Watt TDP
